Our Team

Geo-Con has one of the strongest teams in the industry today that make successful implementation of our projects possible. We have a unique blend of exceptionally qualified managerial, technical and field personnel to provide specialty construction services. Many of our management and field staff have over 25 years of field experience. Our staff's educational background and field experience in both geotechnical and environmental construction gives Geo-Con the qualifications and expertise to meet even the most difficult challenges for our client's soil, groundwater and land resources development needs. Geo-Con's team includes:

William A. Buccille, P.E. Senior Estimator/Project Director

Mr. Buccille has over 35 years of diverse experience, providing technical direction and management for numerous phases of project development. Mr. Buccille serves a dual role as the Senior Estimator and Project Director at GSI's New Kensington office. His current duties include bid preparation, coordination and supervision of construction projects, project budgets, scheduling, subcontracting, technical advisor and business development. Prior to his current position, he served in various key positions in both management and engineering for prominent engineering, construction, and mining firms. His areas of expertise include site remediation, slurry wall applications, soil stabilization and civil, environmental and geotechnical engineering. He has extensive experience with in-situ stabilization/ solidification and was responsible for development of the mix design and implementation process for one of the largest in-situ mixing projects in the country

Loren Martin Business Development Manager

Mr. Martin is the Business Development Manager for GSI. As Business Development Manager, Mr. Martin is responsible for new sales development and marketing of GSI's services and capabilities to a broad range of clients and prospects including: Architect and Engineering firms, Engineering and Consulting firms, Private Industry, Utility Companies, State and Local Governments.

Mr. Martin has over 30 years experience in the environmental construction and specialty chemical industries. He has held various positions in these industries. His main areas of responsibility have focused on sales and marketing, operations and profit and loss management.

Mark E. Kitko Estimating Manager/Project Director

Mr. Kitko serves as a Estimating Manager/Project Director for the Pittsburgh District. Project support and subsequent expertise includes: slurry walls, soil mixing, biopolymer trenches, permeable reactive barriers, jet grouting, pressure grouting, wetlands work, earthwork, and geosynthetics installation.

Steven M. Artman Western Regional Manager

Mr. Steven Artman is responsible for managing projects from the office and in the field. This includes all management duties on assigned projects such as safety and quality, cost control, purchasing, subcontractor management, and client interaction. Mr. Artman has 19 years of experience with GSI, starting as a QC Technician, then advancing to Project Engineer, and Assistant Project Manager. He has managed numerous slurry wall projects as well as soil mixing, jet grouting, and bio-polymer trench projects, primarily in the Western US. Mr. Artman holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Penn State University, and has completed various OSHA, MSHA, and Project Management training courses.

Darin R. Payne Southeastern Regional Manager

Mr. Payne has over 16 years of experience in providing all aspects of project delivery including engineering design, environmental remediation and construction services. Mr. Payne has considerable experience providing these services to clients remediating Manufactured Gas Plant sites, including multiple phases of more than 17 Former MGP sites across the U.S. Mr. Payne has experience in project management on many large scale projects including highly visible/ sensitive projects as well as projects requiring compressed schedules.

Mr. Payne is well versed in multiple remedial technologies including general site remediation, soil mixing, stabilization, Permeable Reactive Barriers (PRB), cut off walls, shoring and dewatering, and earthwork. Additionally, Mr. Payne specializes in the design, treatability and implementation of in situ and ex situ solidification/ stabilization techniques at MGP sites.

Sammy Kellar Site Manager

Mr. Kellar has 24 years construction experience with over 6 years experience as an operator. He has served as a foreman and/or supervisor on many GSI jet grouting and soil mixing projects. Mr. Kellar has expertise in operating batch plants and earthmoving equipment, as well as supervising production crews.

Norman Mayo Site Supervisor

Mr. Mayo serves as a Site Supervisor working out of the GSI Northeast Region. Mr. Mayo has over 30 years experience in the construction industry with 10 years supervisor experience with GSI. He is primarily responsible for the daily supervision of work crews and equipment. Mr. Mayo has successfully supervised work crews involved in wetlands mitigations, landfill capping and construction, estuary restorations and slurry wall installation.

Robert P. Evans Site Manager

Mr. Robert Evans serves as a Site Manager for GSI, working on multidisciplinary projects across the United States. He brings over 24 years of environmental experience including the supervision of a wide range of projects. Mr. Evans has diverse experience in excavation/ earthwork, demolition and decommissioning, transportation and disposal, solidification/ stabilization, dewatering, sheet piling, hazardous materials management, landfill construction, utility relocation and installation and general site remediation. Mr. Evans provides technical expertise, supervision, health and safety, quality control/quality assurance on all field projects. Mr. Evans strong background in health and safety makes him well suited to manage site operations in a safe manner within GSI's corporate health and safety policies.

Aaron D. Handel Coordinator - Health & Safety/Quality Assurance

Mr. Handel serves as GSI's Health and Safety/QA Coordinator. Mr. Handel had previously served as a GSI Health and Safety Specialist and has been with GSI for over 17 years. He coordinates both the Health and Safety and QA/QC Programs for GSI assisting management with adherence to GSI's SOPs, project specifications and work plans. He also advises line management concerning worker health and safety, and audits for compliance with Federal, State, local, and company health and safety regulations.
